Nashville, TN 37221

In late March 1967, Chaffin’s opened its doors as the first “Barn Dinner Theatre” in Nashville and has continued to make history ever since.

Owning the distinction of being the second oldest professional dinner theatre in the Nation, Chaffin’s is a landmark destination to suit your live theatre needs by offering comedies, musicals and mysteries year-round.

The cozy venue is like stepping back in time the moment that you walk through the front door.

The smell of fresh baked cookies in the lobby adds a downhome aroma as you read the many newspaper articles about the theatre’s history that line the walls while you wait to be seated.

Once seated inside the venue, the wait staff is incredibly friendly and attentive which sets the welcoming tone as you head over to the buffet line to fill your plate with comfort foods that can include meatloaf, hard carved roast beef, chicken and dumplings, pot roast with veggies, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, baked apples, green beans, and so much more.

After your dinner, but before the show begins, the wait staff formally introduces themselves to the crowd and offers nods to those that are in attendance celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, as well as honoring those that have served in the military.

And then it’s showtime!

The fun begins the moment that Chaffin’s famous “magic stage” descends from the ceiling and lands in its place in the center of the room as the play begins.

Each season offers a wide variety of theatre options.

Their schedule has included stage staples such as Grease, Route 66, and Driving Miss Daisy.

The holiday season has been delighted with offerings of A Christmas Carol, A Sanders Family Christmas, and Yule Y’all.

From the excitement of the magic stage, to the down home setting, top-notch theatre, and great selection of comfort food, Chaffin’s Barn is the perfect destination to a create a lasting memory for the entire family.

Fun Fact – Chaffin’s Barn Dinner Theatre is a strong believer in the importance of community and donates throughout the year to schools, churches, and local charities.
