Moonshine Ridge Country Store & Café

During our annual trip to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg this past year, we were looking for something a bit more unique to do then the typical.

That’s when I found “Goats On The Roof” in one of the pamphlets that I had picked up, and to the goats we would head.

But it was on this adventure to the Wears Valley area of Sevierville that we stumbled upon the Moonshine Ridge Country Store & Café.

The décor that lined the large front porch lured us in.

We were there just after Thanksgiving so the café was already closed for the season, but upon entering the country store and candy shop we knew that this could take a while.

As an Appalachian Christmas album played over the speakers and mellowed the mood, we ventured into our exploration of the many foods and began to sample as much as we could.

Relishes, Chow-Chow, Salsa, Jams, Jelly, and Aunt Tipsy’s Homemade Fudge, which is made right in the store and features many options including chocolate walnut, moonshine explosion, red velvet, maple nut, and mint chocolate.

Venturing to the other side of the store, we looked at amazing home décor that included wood carved wildlife sculptures, jewelry, stain glass options, and rustic garden pieces.

Though we set out to find the goats, and they were quite awesome, we found a gem in Moonshine Ridge that we have added to our list of places that we have to stop at every time we head to the Smoky Mountains.

Fun Fact – Old school candy is in abundance at Moonshine Ridge. Revisit your childhood and teach your kids about the way it was when you were growing up.
