Alexandria Cafe

33840 Nashville Hwy
Alexandria, TN 37012

52 miles East of Nashville, between Lebanon and Smithville, sits the Alexandria Café; and it is most definitely worth the trip.

The small-town café is a true throwback to the era when the patrons and the staff knew each other by first name and the coffee cups were always filled before you even sat down.

Their large portions and reasonable prices have made this hometown joint the place to go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Start your day off right with “The Big Breakfast,” a meal that consists of two eggs, biscuits & gravy, and country ham.

But, the Alexandria Café has become widely recognized for their incredible salad bar, so don’t fill up too much on breakfast because you will want to come back for lunch.

The fresh salad bar contains over 35 items daily along with the best homemade ranch dressing that you will ever taste.

Their varied menu gives you plenty of options for a solid meal from a great burger, to outstanding biscuit plates, wonderful steak, pork, and chicken options, and delectable seafood choices that includes deep fried catfish.

For the 6 and under crowd, there is a kid’s menu that offers a corn dog, chicken strips, cheeseburger, hamburger, or hot dog; each meal coming with a toy surprise.

Add a chocolate dipped ice cream cone for dessert.

While at most places that offer this type of comfort food I would recommend topping it all off with a glass of sweet tea, but at the Alexandria Café go for a milk shake (only $2.25).

There are your typical flavors to choose from such as Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry, but for the more adventurous there are butterscotch, peanut butter and hot fudge.

if you leave hungry from the Alexandria Café, then that is your own fault!

Fun Fact – Keeping true to the traditions of yesteryear, credit and debit cards are not accepted here; cash or check only.
