Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant

240 Apple Valley Road
Sevierville, TN 37862

The main strip that runs from Sevierville, through Pigeon Forge, and into Gatlinburg, is lined with several dining options and plenty of the usual suspects from Texas Roadhouse and Red Lobster, to all your fast food options.

But while we were on our Honeymoon in the Smoky Mountains, we wanted something a little slower, a little more country, and something that we hadn’t tried before on any of our previous vacations to Gatlinburg.

That’s when we stumbled upon the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant.

From the moment that you pull off the main road and weave your way onto the serene property, you witness a transformation from the hustle and bustle of the strip, to a much more relaxed atmosphere.

You’re surrounded by apple trees, the running water of a creek, and plenty of gazebos to stop at and enjoy the environment.

The laid-back feel continues as you relax on a rocker on the front porch of the Applewood Farmhouse before making your way inside.

Like being back inside of grandma’s country kitchen, the aroma of good ole Southern cookin’ sets the tone as you gaze at the charming, old school décor on the walls and are greeted by a server wearing an old-fashioned pioneer type of dress.

For a truly unique dining experience, ask for a table where your seats are actually porch swings.

Already sold on the place before even receiving our meal, when the generous portions arrived at our table they took this restaurant to a whole other level.

Every meal is accompanied by homemade Apple Fritters, apple butter, and their Applewood Julep, and their menu has plenty of options to cover your southern comfort food needs.

If stopping by for breakfast, although they have tasty pancakes, waffles, and omelets, we suggest embracing the Smoky Mountain vibe and going off of your typical.

Try their Farmhouse Biscuits & Gravy, Smoky Mountain Biscuit Benedict (fresh Baked biscuits topped with tender ham and two farm fresh eggs), or their Country Boy Breakfast Skillet

Their hearty dinner menu is full of southern comfort options that include Fried Chicken, Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken & Dumplings, Pot Roast, Meat Loaf, Catfish, and Sugar Cured Ham.

And Save room for dessert – their signature apple cobbler is the tops, but if you’re like my wife, then you will want to dive into the Chocolate Pecan Pie.

Fun Fact – Make a day out of your visit to the Applewood Farmhouse. Walk off your hearty meal by exploring Apple Valley where you’ll visit the the Apple Barn Cider Mill & General Store, The Apple Barn Winery, bakery, ice cream shop, and more!
