Family Taco Salad

While talking with my not so little baby boy about recipes I’ve been writing down to share with everyone, he insisted that I add one of his favorite meals. I told him that our taco salads weren’t really a recipe and it’s just a few things thrown together, but who can resist those puppy dog eyes? I know I sure can’t…and my son knows it too! This feed’s our family of growing kiddos, but can easily be adjusted for the amount of people you’re preparing this for. So, without further ado, here’s our family taco salad “recipe”.

What you’ll need:

Tortilla chips
3 pounds of ground beef prepared with 3 packages of taco seasoning, as directed
2 cans of refried beans
1 large bowl of chili (if I don’t have any in the freezer, we use Vietti)
Shredded cheese
Shredded lettuce
Ranch dressing
Sour Cream
Sliced jalapenos

How to get your cooking on:

Stay with me folks, because this might take a minute…
Spread your tortilla chips out on your plate
Add beans
Add chili
Add hamburger meat
Add toppings
Y’all still with me? :) That’s it, our family taco salads. We like this because everyone can make their own the way they like it. Plus, if you have leftovers, which we rarely do, they reheat well the next day (you’ll just need fresh chips).
